Keynote Speakers at TechBBQ are solo speakers who contribute to our program by presenting a specific topic on stage. It’s a “one-person show”, often accompanied by an engaging presentation. It should not be an opportunity to ‘sell‘/promote your company, service, or product.

Expectations
- To share your meaningful and expert insights with our community on an exciting topic.
- We expect that you’ll consider TechBBQ’s theme for this year and curate your content to be relevant for our audiences (reach out if you need help here!).
Practical info
- Keynotes are 20 minutes in length. If you want a Q&A, then please leave 5-8 minutes for this in the 20 allocated minutes.
- The Stage Host for your stage will facilitate the Q&A with you and the audience.
- You'll need to be at your stage 15 minutes before kick-off to be mic'ed up and ready to go to avoid delays in the program.
- If you need cue cards, we kindly ask you to bring your own (during the event, we won’t have time to print these out for you).
Presentation
You are automatically granted the opportunity to use a presentation, and we encourage it! Here is the format:
- Widescreen, 16:9, and in PPTX (PowerPoint) [Binding]
- Deadline for presentations: TBD.
- If we do not receive the presentations by this time, we will assume you are not using one.
- If you’re putting the title of your keynote in the presentation, we’ll need to have the final title for the program by TBD
- Send your presentation to our [email protected].
- We also don’t want the presentations to be an opportunity to brand your product without providing helpful and meaningful information for the audience, so please keep this in mind.
Tips & Tricks
- The less fluffy, the better. Our audiences are excited to hear from you and to learn; the more precise, honest, and authentic you can be, the more likely they will leave that session feeling empowered to make real change.
- We’re excited to hear from you, not (just) your company!
- It can be inspiring, but it also doesn’t have to be - you’re a keynote speaker because you can contribute expertise on a niche topic, or provide a unique perspective on a shared issue.
